Meet Mark Hensler, Project Architect at BBCO. Mark brings curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to every project he takes on. As a Project Architect at BBCO, Mark has worked on a wide range of meaningful community-based projects—and he’s also the kind of team member who helps keep the office energy light.
We caught up with Mark (who, by the way, got married last week!) to learn more about what inspires him in and out of the studio.
Can you tell us about a project you’re most proud of and why?
“The projects I’m most proud of are probably the CDBG work we do with the City of Columbus. I think it’s really cool that we can work on meaningful projects that impact our community and help build up Columbus.”
What do you love most about working at BBCO?
“I love that our team takes our projects seriously, but doesn’t take the office atmosphere too seriously. We never shy away from goofing around with each other, which makes the office a fun place to be.”
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the field?
“Lean in. It takes a while to understand the breadth of work an architect can be a part of, but it’s so rewarding when you find the piece of this profession that really excites you.”
If you weren’t an architect, what would you be?
“I’d probably want to be an archaeologist. I’d love to be out in the desert on a dig trying to find remnants of an ancient civilization.”
