We are proud to share that Bhakti Bania, co-founder and CEO of BBCO, has been appointed to the Ohio Architects Board by Governor Mike DeWine. Her term began May 2, 2025, and will continue through October 2, 2029.

Bhakti’s appointment is a testament to her dedication to thoughtful, sustainable design and her commitment to advancing the architectural profession in Ohio. As the leader of one of Central Ohio’s largest woman-owned architecture firms, she brings a unique perspective shaped by decades of experience in public and private sector work, as well as a deep investment in community-focused design.

Her leadership at BBCO is guided by the philosophy “Build Less / Create More,” emphasizing efficient, impactful spaces that serve communities and clients alike. This approach has led to projects like the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland STEM Leadership Center and Franklin County’s Early Childhood Education facility—both designed to maximize function within a sustainable footprint.

Beyond her design work, Bhakti is a vocal advocate for equity in architecture and a mentor to emerging professionals. She serves on the boards of the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland, is the co-chair on the Woman’s Small Business Accelerator and is a member of the Buckeye Engineering Women in Executive Leadership (BEWEL).

We are thrilled to see Bhakti’s voice and vision represented at the state level and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to the Ohio Architects Board.
