We’re excited to welcome Shazia Waggoner, Associate, to the BBCO team. A recent graduate, Shazia brings curiosity, creativity, and a strong interest in how design and technology intersect. She’s quickly become our in-house 3D print specialist, helping turn ideas into physical models that support collaboration and design exploration.

Shazia earned both her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Kent State University, and we’re especially excited to welcome her back to BBCO after previously working with the firm as an intern. She’s passionate about designing spaces that bring people together and reflect the communities they serve.

What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture?

I’ve always loved both art and engineering, and architecture felt like the perfect blend of the two. In high school, my CAD teacher really inspired me to pursue the field. Once I started studying it, I naturally progressed and discovered a passion for it.

What do you love most about working at BBCO?

What I love most about BBCO is the opportunity to grow and apply my skills in new, creative ways with the support of a great team. As a recent grad, entering the workforce can be intimidating, but I’ve already been involved in a wide range of projects that have expanded my knowledge and confidence in the practice.

What’s your go-to creative fuel (coffee, music, routine)?

My go-to creative fuel is a cup of coffee paired with good music.

What excites you most about the future of BBCO?

The future of BBCO feels incredibly exciting. We’re taking on new projects and clients, and with Bhakti serving on the Ohio Board of Architects, recent AIA Columbus recognition, and several projects breaking ground, it feels like we’re entering a new chapter—one built on strong relationships and growing opportunities.
