Police Substation 19
This project involves the design and construction of a new 13,500 sf, two-story police substation for the City of Columbus. The facility will serve Columbus Police Precinct 19, CRT-3, a detective unit, and a community center. The hardened structure also includes an ICC-500 compliant tornado storm shelter designed to provide a safe refuge during severe weather events.
The building is designed to support both police operations and community engagement. BBCO worked closely with city agencies, end users, and the Hilltop community to develop a facility that is efficient, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of the neighborhood. The design incorporates sustainable strategies for both the building and site while reinforcing the facility’s role as an important civic presence in the Hilltop area.
